Upwardly Global is currently hiring for the following positions:
Vol/Corp Relations - New York
Position Summary: Reporting to the Program Director and Managing Director, the Volunteer & Corporate Relations Associate will play a leadership role in creating and implementing a strategy for increasing and retaining corporate partner support, increasing corporate voluntarism and administering all aspects of volunteer program recruitment, retention initiatives, recognition programs and evaluations.
Position Requirements:
- Manage all aspects of Corporate Volunteer Program including development, planning and execution of all volunteer events, internal and external marketing, relationship management and training
- Direct planning of corporate volunteer events (in partnership with program team), ranging from one day events to year round activities, designed to increase both employability of UpGlo jobseekers and corporate involvement / revenue
- Expand the volunteer program to engage new and existing corporate partners in meaningful activities designed to improve and increase employment outcomes for skilled immigrants; identify corporations, develop and write proposals
- Manage existing mentoring programs; conceptualize and develop new models for successful mentor engagement and evaluation
- Research existing volunteers, employers and employee/Affinity Networking Group leadership and Diversity Council members and identify new opportunities for engagement
- Communicate regularly with potential and existing volunteers and employers to maintain or increase involvement
- Serve as liaison with Employer Network, Development, Policy for corporate volunteer initiatives
- Deliver employer training on a variety of skilled immigrant workforce integration, and employment related topics
- Represent Upwardly Global at external corporate events and functions, as well as high-level meetings with corporate donors.
- Oversee new business development. Provide leadership on selling mission-oriented partnerships.
- Administer all aspects of volunteer program including orientations, scheduling participation in workshops, recruiting, program evaluations, donor identification etc.
- Recruit speakers, experts from various industries to participate at the Summit's Industry Roundtables
- Manage and identify all pro-bono space needs
- Participate on task forces and special projects

REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor's degree is required (management, business or communications is desirable and Masters preferred with 3-4 years relevant experience in nonprofit and/or business sector in corporate relation management, volunteer management, recruiting, HR and/or sales. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and using databases. Commitment to mission of Upwardly Global and ability to promote our work to the business sector. Proven ability to effectively develop and manage multiple projects as well as ability to work and make decisions independently. Superb presentation skills. Excellent organizational, writing and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and persuasively. Strong team player, must be able to collaborate effectively and support others in making decisions/reaching consensus

Program Manager - San Francisco

immigrant professionals from 100 developing countries to re-enter their careers in the U.S.

Due to an internal promotion, we now have an exciting opportunity for a program manager. The
Program Manager will manage the primary program of Upwardly Global, our Jobseeker Services
and Employer Network, and is responsible for ensuring the achievement of program goals and
the furtherance of Upwardly Global's mission to dismantle the barriers to workplace entry faced
by immigrant professionals.
The Program Manager will be based in San Francisco and report to the Managing Director of
Upwardly Global, Bay Area.
The Jobseeker Advisor will work closely with local San Francisco teammates, immigrant professional jobseekers, SF Bay Area employers, and volunteers to realize Upwardly Global's mission of helping immigrants, refugees and asylees re-enter their careers in the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the jobseeker services program and team to achieve key enrolment, training and
professional placement goals
- Develop and manage Upwardly Global's relationships with corporations, small and
medium-size enterprises (SMEs) and local non-profits to drive jobseeker placements.
- Collaborate with the Senior Associate, Volunteer Programs to leverage existing corporate
volunteer network to drive both jobseeker placement and business development efforts
- Hire/train and supervise program staff and interns including outreach coordinator, trainer
and job seeker advisor/placement specialists
- Liaise with trainer for oversight of jobseeker services curriculum delivery and
development
- Ensure timely and accurate program reporting, internally and externally to funders
Responsible for ongoing performance management of team, including regular
evaluations and creation of leadership path/opportunities for top-performing team
members
- Market and deliver diversity trainings and other value-added services to employers
including bi-monthly informational webinars
- Keep aware of trends in workforce development and leverage job creation programs and
sector-specific strategies
- Support Upwardly Global's fundraising activities through effective account management
of key corporate/government relationships and grant writing/ reporting for local
foundations
- Collaborate with program managers in Chicago and NY offices to share and learn best
practices from other locations
- Work with Managing Director to effectively communicate Upwardly Global's vision and
value to the local business marketplace
Desired Qualifications
- Self-starter with minimum 7 years of HR or workforce development experience, and a
proven track record of creating employment opportunities for job seeker populations.
- Recruiting/staffing sales or experience selling into HR highly preferred
- Bachelors degree required; Master's degree in business or other related field preferred
Experience in sales and business development, marketing, outreach and event design
and implementation
- Skilled supervisor and manager, as well as team player.
- Experience working in a start up or entrepreneurial environment preferred
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Sense of humor

Salary Range : $50,000 - $60,000 depending on experience

Jobseeker Program Intern - San Francisco

The Organization: Upwardly Global is an award-winning nonprofit organization that works with immigrant professionals to help them restart their careers and with US companies to help them recognize the talent of these professionals. Working in partnership with major corporations including Cisco, Wells Fargo, McKesson and JP Morgan Chase, we have pioneered a model for professional opportunity and success for highly-educated and experienced immigrant professionals in the United States. We work with immigrants from more than 100 countries who represent career fields such as finance, accounting, nonprofit/public sector, and the sciences.
The Position: In addition to general office support, you will be responsible for supporting the Outreach and Jobseeker Programs, training workshops and fundraising activities. Upwardly Global offers opportunities for professional development. The ideal candidate will be a highly professional, resourceful, and self-motivated individual who wants to both contribute to and grow within the non-profit sector. Note: This is a highly competitive internship opportunity with room for upward growth in the organization. This is an unpaid internship.
Key responsibilities include:
Office and Fundraising Administration (25 -35%)
Work closely to support the activities of the office, including but not limited to:
- Answer client inquiries by phone and in person
- Place orders for office supplies; develop appropriate timeline to ensure fully equipped office
- Keep front area and conference room organized and neat
- Additional program administrative tasks/ projects as needed (data entry, photocopying, organization of files, coordination of events)
- Donor Correspondence/mailings
- Special Events support
Program Support (65%)
Work closely to support the activities of the Outreach, Jobseeker and Volunteer Programs, including but not limited to:
- Provide logistical support for jobseeker training program and volunteer program(organizing training materials,
and other administrative tasks related to training program; provide support in training set-up and breakdown)
- Soliciting food donations for our training programs (refreshments)
- Tracking jobseeker training attendance in database; entering client information
- Database entry for volunteers attending workshops
- Assistance in soliciting and recruiting news mentors and volunteers - posting on volunteer websites, bulletin boards
Qualifications
- At least a High School Diploma, BA preferred
- Interest in immigration issues and ethnic communities
- You must be an independent worker and team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Office management experience necessary
- Excellent English communication skills (no foreign language required)
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- High level of computer proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with databases
- Experience working with diverse communities preferred
- Sense of humor, patience and flexibility essential
- Ability to work well in small office environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Great customer service skills
