Nyna Pais-Caputi, Volunteer Coordinator (San Francisco)

Nyna brings to Upwardly Global experience in both the non-profit and corporate sectors. In her native India she completed her Masters in Zoology, specializing in Molecular Biology at Pune University, then worked at Biocon, India’s leading Biotechnology Company where she headed the Marketing and Technical Services Food Ingredients Department. She later worked at Givaudan, the world’s largest Flavor and Fragrance company, where she set up and managed their Flavor application laboratory. She moved to the US in 2002 and attended the New York Film Academy, where she made a film on an immigrant woman’s adjustment to life in the US. After working on and producing a few short films, Nyna followed her heart and entered into the Non-Profit field, first working at the ARC as an instructor for people with developmental disabilities and then joined the Haight Ashbury Food Program. As their Job Training Manager she was responsible for coordinating the program, doing outreach, intake, teaching job and life skills classes and networking with employers to provide internships and hire jobseekers.
