Thank you very much for supporting Upwardly Global’s 2014 Passport to Possibilities Awards and Gala.  All funds raised will be used directly to support Upwardly Global’s programs and services.

For your information, here are a few details about the gala that we thought might be helpful in planning your evening.

1. How can I buy tickets for the gala?

1. How can I buy tickets for the gala?
Ticket purchases are available online.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, PayPal or check payment.

2. I’m having troubles purchasing the ticket online, what should I do?
We are sorry for your trouble.  Please email Claudette at Claudette@upwardlyglobal.org and we will work with you to resolve the matter.

3. If I buy a group of tickets for myself and friends, will we be seated together?
For as long as you buy tickets with the same price level, you and your friends will be seated together.

4. If I buy a ticket and cannot make it, will I be refunded?
We would love for you to join us, but understand things happen.  If you cannot attend the event, we will offer your ticket to one of our un/underemployed jobseeker clients to share with us in our celebration.  We are not able to offer refunds.

5. When do I need to purchase tickets by?
All tickets must be purchased by Friday, May 30th in order for Upwardly Global to include your name to the final guest list.

6. Can I buy a ticket onsite?
If you plan on buying a ticket onsite, please email Claudette at Claudette@upwardlyglobal.org on or before 3:00 PM, Friday, May 30th so we are able to include your name in the official guest list and guarantee a seat for you.

7. What time is registration?
Gala doors open promptly at 6:00 PM with a networking cocktail reception. Dinner follows at 7:00 PM.

8. When will I receive my tickets for the event?
No tickets will be distributed for the event. Instead, a guest list will be created for admission to the gala. Just provide your name or the name of your party when you arrive on June 3rd.

9. Are drinks included in the ticket price?
Yes, there will be soft drinks, beer, wine, soda and mixed drinks.  Please drink responsibly.

10. Can I bring my teenager to the gala?
Yes, you may bring your teenager to the gala.  However, please be mindful that there will be an open bar.  Anyone who appears to be under the age of 21 will be carded.

11. Will there be a sit-down dinner at the event?
Yes, there will be dinner served at the event.

12. What is the attire for the event?
Cocktail or International attire is encouraged but business formal is appropriate.

13. How do I get to Guastavino's?
Guastavino's is located at 409 East 59th Street, between First and York Avenues. 

Please be aware, directions are subject to change due to detours, road/track work, etc.

Subways:
A, C - To 59th Street, walk South to 57th Street/8th Avenue, take M57 or M31 towards East Side York - 60 St. Crosstown Bus, get off at 1st Avenue/East 57th Street, walk to appropriate street.

N, Q, R, F, 4, 5, 6 - To Lexington and 59th Street, walk East towards 3rd Avenue, turn Right onto 1st Avenue, walk to appropriate street.

Car:
FROM NEW JERSEY VIA LINCOLN TUNNEL
Take I-95N (New Jersey Turnpike North)
Exit towards Lincoln Tunnel / New York City
Merge onto NJ-495 towards toll
After crossing the Lincoln Tunnel, take the exit on the left towards I-495 E / 42 St. / RT-9A / All Points
Stay straight onto Dyer Ave.
Turn right onto 42nd St.
Turn left onto 3rd Ave.
Turn right onto E. 59th St.
Guastavino’s will be on the left

FROM WESTCHESTER VIA SAW MILL PARKWAY
Take Saw Mill Parkway S / Saw Mill River Pkwy S
This becomes Henry Hudson Pkwy / NY-9A S
Take Exit 24 on the left towards I-87 S / Major Deegan Expwy
Merge onto Mosholu Pkwy S
Merge onto I-97 S / Major Deegan Expy toward Triboro Bridge
Take Exit 3 toward E. 138th St.
Stay straight to go onto Exterior St.
This becomes Major William F. Deegan Blvd.
Turn right onto 3rd Ave. Bridge
Take the Harlem River Drive South Ramp
Merge onto FDR Dr. S
Take Exit 12 (63rd St. towards RT-25 / Queensboro Br.)
Turn left onto York Ave.
Turn right onto E. 59th St.
Guastavino’s will be on the right

FROM LONG ISLAND VIA THE L.I.E.
Take the Long Island Expy / I-495 W
Take Exit 19 towards RT-25 / Queens Blvd. / Woodhaven Blvd
Take the Queens Blvd. ramp towards RT-25 W
Turn slight left onto Horace Harding Expy
Turn right onto Queens Blvd.
Turn slight left onto Queens Blvd. / NY-25 W
Turn slight left onto Queensboro Bridge
Stay straight to go onto Queensboro Brg – Lower Level / 59th St. Bridge
Take the 2nd Ave. South ramp
Turn left onto 2nd Ave.
Turn left onto E. 59th St.
Guastavino’s will be on the left

FROM STATEN ISLAND VIA THE B.Q.E.
Take I-278 E (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway)
Take Exit 29A Manhattan Bridge
After crossing Manhattan Bridge, turn right onto Canal St.
Turn left onto Allen St.
Turn slight right onto 1st Ave.
Turn right onto E. 59th St.
Guastavino’s will be on the left

14. Is there parking?
Yes, right across the venue: Sovereign Car Park (420 East 59th Street). Please get your parking tickets validated at registration to avail $23.00 parking fee.

15. Is there a place to put my coat?
Yes, a coat check will be available.

16. What portion of my donation or event ticket is tax-deductible?
IRS regulations state that certain items received as part of your donation are considered goods and services received and may not be included in your tax-deductible donation. As an Upwardly Global donor, the value of the tickets to the gala ($150 per ticket) is not considered to be a part of your donation. Please note the entire gift amount benefits Upwardly Global’s programs and services regardless of the tax deductible portion of your gift.

17. How can I become an event sponsor?
