2. I’m having troubles purchasing tables or tickets online, what should I do?

3. If I buy a group of tickets for myself and friends, will we be seated together?
As long as you buy tickets at the same price level, you and your friends will be seated together.

4. If I buy a ticket and cannot make it, will I be refunded?
We would love for you to join us, but understand that sometimes things come up and you cannot make the event. If you cannot attend the event, we will offer your ticket to one of our un/underemployed jobseeker clients to share with us in our celebration. We are not able to offer refunds.

5. When do I need to purchase tickets by?
We have very limited numbers of tickets for sale. All tickets must be purchased by Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in order for Upwardly Global to include your name to the final guest list.

6. Can I buy a ticket onsite?
If you plan on buying a ticket onsite, please email Anne at anne@upwardlyglobal.org on or before 12:00PM, Wednesday, September 26 so we are able to include your name in the official guest list and guarantee a seat for you.

7. What time is registration?
Gala doors open promptly at 6:00PM with a networking cocktail reception in the Pavilion Room. Dinner follows at 7:00PM in the Venetian Room.

8. When will I receive my tickets for the event?
No tickets will be distributed for the event. Instead, a guest list will be created for admission to the gala. Just provide your name or the name of your party when you arrive on October 3rd.

9. Are drinks included in the ticket price?
Yes, there will be soft drinks, wine and champagne. Please drink responsibly.

10. Can I bring my teenager to the gala?
Yes, you may bring your teenager to the gala. However, please be mindful that there will be an open bar. Anyone who appears to be under the age of 21 will be carded.

Yes, there will be dinner served at the event.

Festive attire is encouraged but business formal is appropriate.

13. How do I get to the Fairmont Hotel?
The Fairmont Hotel is located at 950 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94108. It is at Nob Hill in central San Francisco Click here to get directions from your location to the event.
Please be aware, directions are subject to change due to detours, road/track work, etc.
Muni/Cable Car
- Take Muni to Powell St. Station
- Walk to Powell and Market
- Take the Powell Hyde Cable Car to Pine and Powell
- Walk one block west on Pine to the event

Driving Directions
From East Bay:
- Take Hwy. 80 West over the Bay Bridge ($5 toll)
- Take the Fremont Street exit off the Bay Bridge. Fremont Street is the first S.F. exit on the right
- Turn left at the bottom of the exit onto Fremont Street
- Get into the right lane and go 2 blocks until Market Street
- When you cross over Market Street, Fremont Street becomes Front Street
- Go 2 blocks on Front, and turn left onto California Street
- Go 8 blocks up California, and turn right onto Mason Street
From South Bay:
- Take Hwy. 101 North into the city. 101 North can be accessed from Hwy. 280 North. Stay in the left lane and follow the signs for Hwy. 101 North, Golden Gate Bridge
- Take the 9th Street/Civic Center exit. Make a half left onto 9th Street
- Go 5 blocks to Market Street. Stay in the right lane.
- When you cross over Market Street, 9th becomes Larkin Street
- Go 14 blocks on Larkin, and turn right onto California Street
- Go 5 blocks on California, and turn left onto Mason Street.
From North Bay:
- Take Highway 101 South over the Golden Gate Bridge ($6.00 toll)
- Take Lombard Street Exit
- Go 11 blocks on Lombard Street and turn right onto Gough Street
- Go 12 blocks on Gough Street and turn left onto California Street
- Go 9 blocks on California Street and turn left onto Mason Street.
- Hotel is on corner of California and Mason Street.
From San Francisco International Airport (SFO):
- Take Highway 101 North into the city. 101 North can be accessed from Highway 280 North
- Stay in the left lane and follow the signs for Highway 101 North, Golden Gate Bridge
- Take the 9th Street, Civic Center exit. Make a half left onto 9th Street
- Go 5 blocks to Market Street
- When you cross over Market Street, 9th Street becomes Larkin Street
- Go 14 blocks on Larkin Street and turn right onto California Street
- Go 5 blocks on California Street and turn left onto Mason Street.

14. Where can I find parking?
Valet parking is available at the Fairmont for $52. However, there are less expensive garages within a short walk from the event. Click here for a map showing other parking options.

Yes, a coat check will be available.

16. What portion of my donation or event ticket is tax-deductible?
IRS regulations state that certain items received as part of your donation are considered goods and services received and may not be included in your tax-deductible donation. As an Upwardly Global donor, the value of the tickets to the gala ($150 per ticket) is not considered to be a part of your donation. Please note the entire gift amount benefits Upwardly Global’s programs and services regardless of the tax deductible portion of your gift.
