Thank you very much for supporting Upwardly Global’s 2014 Bay Area Passport to Possibilities Awards and Gala.  All funds raised will be used directly to support Upwardly Global’s programs and services.

For your information, here are a few details about the gala that we thought might be helpful in planning your evening.

1. How can I buy tables and tickets for the gala?
2. If I buy a group of tickets for myself and friends, will we be seated together?
3. If I buy a ticket and cannot make it, will I be refunded?
4. When do I need to purchase tickets by?
5. What time is registration?

2. If I buy a group of tickets for myself and friends, will we be seated together?
As long as you buy tickets at the same price level, you and your friends will be seated together.

3. If I buy a ticket and cannot make it, will I be refunded?
We would love for you to join us, but understand that sometimes things come up and you cannot make the event. If you cannot attend the event, we will offer your ticket to one of our un/underemployed job seeker clients to share with us in our celebration. We are not able to offer refunds.

4. When do I need to purchase tickets by?
We have very limited numbers of tickets for sale. All tickets must be purchased by Friday, October 10, 2014 in order for Upwardly Global to include your name to the final guest list.

5. What time is registration?
Gala doors open promptly at 6:00 PM with a networking cocktail reception in the first floor Galley. Dinner follows at 7:00 PM in the Ballroom.

6. When will I receive my tickets for the event?
No tickets will be distributed for the event. Instead, a guest list will be created for admission to the gala. Just provide your name or the name of your party when you arrive on October 16th.

7. Is there a place to put my coat?
Yes, a coat check will be available.

8. Are drinks included in the ticket price?
Yes, there will be soft drinks, mix drinks, wine, and champagne. Please drink responsibly.

9. Will there be a sit-down dinner at the event?
Yes, there will be dinner served at the event.

10. What is the attire for the event?
Festive semi-formal attire is encouraged but business formal is appropriate.

11. What portion of my donation or event ticket is tax-deductible?
IRS regulations state that certain items received as part of your donation are considered goods and services received and may not be included in your tax-deductible donation. As an Upwardly Global donor, the value of the tickets to the gala ($150 per ticket) is not considered to be a part of your donation. Please note the entire gift amount benefits Upwardly Global’s programs and services regardless of the tax deductible portion of your gift.

12. Where can I find parking?
Valet parking is available at the Ritz Carlton Hotel San Francisco at a discounted rate of $35. In addition, there are other garages within a short walk from the event. Click here for a map showing other parking options.

13. How do I get to the Ritz Carlton Hotel?
The Ritz Carlton Hotel is located at 600 Stockton Street, San Francisco, CA 94108. It is at Nob Hill in central San Francisco. Click here to get directions from your location to the event.

Please be aware, directions are subject to change due to detours, road/track work, etc.

From South Bay/San Francisco Airport (SFO) via Highway 101

  • Take US-101 north
  • Follow signs towards the Golden Gate Bridge
  • Exit on Octavia Street
  • Continue straight on Octavia Street
  • Turn left on Fell Street (you can't go any further)
  • Take first right onto Laguna Street
  • Take right onto Grove Street
  • Turn left on Franklin Street
  • Turn right onto Bush Street
  • Turn left on Stockton Street

  • From the Golden Gate Bridge/North

    • Take 101 South heading towards San Francisco
    • Cross the Golden Gate Bridge
    • Take the Lombard Street/Downtown exit
    • Follow Lombard Street to VanNess Avenue and turn right
    • Follow VanNess Avenue one mile to Bush Street and turn left
    • Follow Bush nine blocks to Stockton Street and turn left
    • Make a right into The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco front drive

    From East Bay:

    • Take Interstate 80 towards San Francisco
    • Cross the Bay Bridge -- stay in the right lane
    • Take the Fremont Street Exit
    • Turn left onto Fremont Street
    • Cross Market Street -- Fremont becomes Front Street
    • Follow Front Street one block to Pine Street
    • Turn left on Pine Street and follow for six blocks to Stockton Street
    • Turn right on Stockton Street and into The Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco front drive
