Diane Shohet Joins Upwardly Global as Vice President of Development

Upwardly Global is pleased to announce a new member of its growing executive leadership team. Diane Shohet will join the organization on September 8 as Vice President of Development. In this critical position, she will support our goal of integrating immigrant and refugee professionals into the U.S. workforce for a more equitable, inclusive economy.

Diane’s decades-long experience in fundraising, marketing, and communications strategy focused on the nonprofit sector will support Upwardly Global’s rapid growth as we uplift refugees and other immigrants from over 150 countries.

Prior to joining Upwardly Global, Diane served as the Senior Director of Development and Communications at the International Institute of New England, a nonprofit focused on assisting immigrants and refugees through resettlement, education, and career advancement. She has worked in marketing and communications leadership positions across various mission-driven organizations, including Wide Horizons for Children, WorldFish, Horizons for Homeless Children, Root Capital, and Oxfam America. She has also provided consulting services to the National Immigration Forum, Accion, XPRIZE, Environmental Defense Fund, and other nonprofit organizations.

Before her work in the nonprofit sector, Diane worked at Digitas, where she managed integrated marketing and communications programs for companies such as General Motors, FedEx, and Delta. She began her career in digital product development as a Producer at Prentice Hall, Virtual Entertainment, and Hasbro Interactive. Diane graduated from Wellesley College and earned her master’s from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
