Upwardly Global Employer Working Group Meeting Update — December 2024

As the Trump administration prepares to make sweeping changes to the U.S. immigration system, Upwardly Global remains committed to supporting employers in navigating these shifts while providing the latest tools and information to help advance the important work of sourcing, hiring, and retaining work-authorized immigrant and refugee talent — together.

On December 5, 2024, Upwardly Global convened its Employer Working Group — comprising over 100 national corporations — to address potential changes posed by the incoming administration. The session focused on preparing employers for anticipated changes mainly affecting refugees and asylum seekers, humanitarian parolees, and those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

Upwardly Global welcomed partners at Fragomen, the premier global law firm providing business immigration services, to lead this timely session. The firm provided valuable insights and strategic support for employers navigating this complex immigration landscape. Special thanks to Daniel Pierce, Partner in Fragomen’s Government Strategies and Compliance Group, and Jill Zabel, Fragomen’s Lead Immigration Specialist.
