NEW YORK — Upwardly Global is delighted to welcome Alice Kang as our new Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Alice will work alongside CEO Jina Krause-Vilmar to amplify Upwardly Global’s mission, shaping a bold marketing and communications strategy that advances immigrant inclusion and community impact.

Alice joins Upwardly Global from FoodCorps, a national organization that advocates for and works directly with students to nourish their health and education in schools. At FoodCorps, she led the development of its new mission and vision, theory of change, and brand identity; delivered state and national advocacy campaigns; and led strategy across earned, owned, and paid media.

Previously, Alice was with Amnesty International, where she led its global growth strategy to build a diverse and engaged movement for human rights, resulting in two million new supporters in three years. She also led Amnesty’s global strategic communications for brand, advocacy, fundraising, and research, and delivered campaigns to defend women’s reproductive rights, protect human-rights advocates, and end state torture.

Before her move to mission-driven organizations, Alice led product development and engineering for e-commerce brands and worked in consulting. She has lived in Singapore, Sydney, and London but now resides in her hometown of New York City with her husband and three children. Alice graduated from MIT with dual bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree.
