Groundbreaking partnership leverages AI technology to impact careers of thousands of immigrants in the U.S.

NEW YORK — Upwardly Global is joining forces with FutureFit AI for an innovative partnership that will leverage cutting-edge technology to eliminate employment barriers for professional immigrants and refugees and help this population navigate the U.S. labor market.

“This is a potential game-changer for immigrants and refugees shut out of traditional career pathways due to systemic barriers within the labor market,” said Jina Krause-Vilmar, Upwardly Global CEO and President. “Upwardly Global works everyday with some of the 2.3 million immigrants and refugees in the U.S. who bring professional skills to our workforce. Our partnership with FutureFit AI will help these communities navigate personalized skilling pathways to rebuild their careers.”

The partnership will allow Upwardly Global, the leading national organization helping immigrants and refugees rebuild their careers, and their job seeker network to access FutureFit AI’s technology – an artificial intelligence-powered tool to help job seekers navigate their careers. FutureFit AI’s skills-based approach will highlight the potential of those whose foreign credentials and training too often go unrecognized.

While using the tool, immigrant and refugee job seekers will have their work experience analyzed with labor market data, and will be presented a custom career roadmap that guides them through each stage of their job search. Job seekers can, for example, identify gaps in their skills and be directed to industry-relevant training opportunities; they can also access critical resources such as degree evaluation to establish U.S. equivalency.

“FutureFit AI is thrilled to help harness the power of artificial intelligence to support Upwardly Global’s critical population of immigrants and refugees,” said Hamoon Ekhtiari, CEO of FutureFit AI. “The opportunity to build a systemic solution to support immigrants and refugees regardless of their background and empower them to reach their full potential in the economy is something that is very viscerally important to me, and has influenced our core mission and values at FutureFit AI.”

The partnership will help fill critical gaps in the labor market, aligning immigrant and refugee talent with employment in key industries. Upwardly Global will make FutureFit AI’s innovative technology tools available to the thousands of immigrants and refugees in its career skills and coaching program. FutureFit AI’s Career Passport, a digital record of education and career skills, will help jobseekers showcase their credentials to employers and help recruiters put skills-based hiring into practice. Upwardly Global’s team will also expand the partnership’s impact by making digital tools and trainings available to state and local boards, community-based organizations, community colleges, and employers.

Upwardly Global and FutureFit AI aim to forge pathways through these systemic barriers to employment, utilizing cutting-edge AI technology to advance inclusion.
