Welcoming Alliance

About the Welcoming Alliance

Passionate advocates and supporters have consistently rallied around Upwardly Global’s vision of a nation where skilled immigrants are seamlessly integrated into the professional workforce and the fabric of American life.

The Welcoming Alliance honors our most generous donors as philanthropic leaders who believe in our mission and the value that immigrants and refugees add to our workplaces, economy, and communities. The power of your combined support ensures those seeking to rebuild their careers in the U.S. will always find an open opportunity at UpGlo.

Alliance Founders

In 2016, Upwardly Global sought to galvanize our long-standing supporters into a cohesive and collective membership of advocates who believe in the value immigrants bring to the United States. The support we received was astounding. We are proud to honor the founding members who chose to be among the first to invest in our work through the Alliance. This group shows that through inclusion and understanding, businesses and communities can come to know the incredible value skilled immigrants bring to our country.

Welcoming Alliance Donation Tiers

The Belgrade Circle: $1,500 - $2,499

The Belgrade Circle is in honor of Upwardly Global’s first job seeker placement, Jelena, an asylee from Belgrade, former Yugoslavia.

Skilled immigrants, particularly refugees and asylees, need champions – advocates who can give them advice, connections, and encouragement in a new country where they often don’t know a soul. Every UpGlo advocate has the power to fund the training that makes our organization’s work possible and the capacity to connect directly with job seekers like Jelena. Members of the Belgrade Circle know that a single act of support can change the life of a job seeker forever.

The Pluralism Circle: $15,000 - $25,000

When Upwardly Global helps a refugee or immigrant obtain a job enabling them to feel a sense of belonging and giving them the capacity to support their family, we create a personal success story and a stronger workforce.

This is the basis for cultural understanding, acceptance, and integration in communities across America. UpGlo and members of the Welcoming Alliance foster pluralism, because when our job seekers succeed they gain more than a job; they develop relationships and bridges of mutual understanding with colleagues and neighbors. Members of the Pluralism Circle actively help us pursue the differences that make our teams, our communities, and our country better.

The Carillon Circle: $25,000 +

Every time an Upwardly Global job seeker is placed in a new U.S. professional position, a bell is rung by UpGlo staff to symbolize the beginning of their career in America.

A carillon is a musical instrument composed of dozens of bells, and symbolizes the resounding chorus of skilled immigrants rebuilding their careers with the help of UpGlo supporters. In our first year, the bell was rung twice a month. Now, we plan to ring the bell every two business hours! Carillon Circle Members help Upwardly Global train 25 or more job seekers every year. The Carillon Circle represents the highest level of individual support for Upwardly Global’s mission.

  • All of the benefits of the Pluralism circle plus:
  • Two tickets to the National UpGlo Gala in NYC
  • An option to be profiled in the printed journal of the National Upwardly Global Gala
