Bob Bissen is a purpose-driven government relations and public affairs expert who has spent time with large and small public affairs firms, inside state and federal government, and on political campaigns.
Bob is currently Senior Vice President at Cannae Policy Group, where he establishes and administers strategic government relations programs to achieve client success through positive interaction with legislative and executive branch officials and private-sector stakeholders. In addition to his work with Cannae, Bob is the founder and president of RJB Strategies, where he formulates and implements public affairs campaigns to cultivate awareness of and support for organizations dedicated to making the world a better place.
Prior to joining Cannae and founding RJB Strategies, he served as a Senior Director at APCO Worldwide, a global advisory and advocacy communications consultancy; Special Assistant for Intergovernmental and Public Liaison at the U.S. Department of Energy under President George H.W. Bush; chief of staff for the Independent-Republican Caucus of the Minnesota State Senate; director of voter programs and special projects for the National Republican Senatorial Committee; as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill; and on numerous political campaigns.
Bob was included in The Hill newspaper’s list of Top Lobbyists for 2019 and 2020. He is member of COVIDxNOW, served as a political consultant in Mongolia in preparation for the country’s first freely contested presidential election, and has been a guest lecturer and instructor for numerous campaign management schools and education programs. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from St. Cloud State University.
