Julia grew up and studied in California (and yes, she misses the sunshine). With a background in linguistics and English as a Second Language, she has worked in employment services for refugees, asylees and immigrants in Seattle since 2017. In her current role as an Employment Case Manager with Jewish Family Service, Julia guides her clients through entry-level and professional job search and onboarding, advocates for them with employers and other service providers, and works to support them in breaking down barriers and taking charge of their career trajectories. She loves making a difference in clients’ lives through her work.
Julia heard about UpGlo last year and was thrilled to hear they are considering expanding services in Seattle. As part of the Leadership Council, she’s excited to help UpGlo connect with organizations already serving immigrants in the area, and foster collaborative partnerships that leverage local experience along with UpGlo’s dynamic and progressive approach.
