About Rosalyn Chen

Rosalyn Chen Immigrated from Taiwan to California with her family at the age of 11 not knowing a word of English. She has firsthand understanding of the daily difficulties faced by immigrants. With hard work and steady support from her family, she received her Bachelor degree in Political Science from U.C. San Diego and her Masters in Business Administration degree in Finance from University of Southern California.

She spent 10 years as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, UBS Investment Bank and Piper Jaffray helping government agencies secure funding for infrastructure. She has worked as an expert witness for financial litigations. Rosalyn is currently actively involved in philanthropy as a board member and head of the Development Committee of the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, which provides basic services to new immigrants to San Francisco. In addition, she is a board member of the Chavez Family Foundation, whose mission is to advance causes related to immigration, education and entrepreneurship.

She looks forward to bringing her immigrant experience and financial/non-profit background to Upwardly Global.
