Dr. Érica Pereira Amorim brings more than 20 years of global experience in research, evaluation, data analytics, and strategic leadership, with a career spanning North and Latin America, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to advancing evidence-based solutions that improve opportunities and outcomes for vulnerable populations, helping organizations translate data into actionable insights that drive meaningful and lasting change.
As Vice President of Research and Evaluation at Upwardly Global, Dr. Amorim leads the organization’s research, evaluation, and learning strategy to strengthen program effectiveness, measure impact, and inform organizational and policy decision-making. She oversees enterprise measurement, evaluation, labor market intelligence, and strategic research initiatives that advance economic mobility for immigrant and refugee professionals.
Before joining Upwardly Global, Dr. Amorim served as Chief Data, Research, and Analytics Officer at Achieving the Dream (ATD), where she led enterprise research, analytics, and organizational learning for a national network of more than 300 community colleges. Previously, as Chief Data Officer at Broward College, she led enterprise data strategy, governance, and predictive analytics to support student success and institutional effectiveness.
Earlier in her career, Dr. Amorim held research and analytics leadership roles at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and Charter Schools USA. She also served as an Education Specialist at the World Bank, contributing to research, policy development, impact evaluations, and educational assessments that supported education systems in multiple countries.
Dr. Amorim holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Evaluation from Florida State University and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). A proud Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro, she now calls Florida home. She is married to a U.S. Air Force veteran and is the proud mother of two boys, Marcello and Miguel, along with their fluffy pup, Rio.
