What English level is required for jobseekers?
With our partnership model, we leave it up to your team to determine if a jobseeker is ready to engage with our resources. As all of our resources are in English, we recommend jobseekers have at least an intermediate level (i.e., B2 level or NRS level 5–6). If they can comfortably navigate email and online platforms, they’re likely ready.
Are these resources really free?
Yes! Thanks to our diverse funding stream, we provide these resources at no cost to partner organizations. If you’d like to support our work, you can learn more about donating on our website.
How do we start a partnership with UpGlo Connect?
Here’s how we can start working together:
- Schedule a call with a Partnership Development Manager. We’ll talk through your programming and see if our partnership model is a good fit.
- Next, we’ll set up a demo call so you can see our resources in action.
- After the demo call, we’ll host a program design call to map out implementation.
- If you’re ready to move forward with UpGlo Connect, we’ll complete a Master Services Agreement and Scope of Work. From there, your Account Manager will guide you through onboarding and beyond.
Can we track our job seekers’ progress?
Yes! Your account manager will work closely with you to track each of your jobseekers’ progress.
How is this different from being a referral partner?
UpGlo Connect is a great option for organizations that already have the infrastructure to provide career coaching but need resources tailored for immigrant and refugee professionals. We complement your existing programs rather than replace them.
Referral partnerships work best if your organization doesn’t have coaching infrastructure. Your jobseekers apply for our career coaching program instead.
There’s also a third, blended option if you find that both approaches could fit your programming. Please schedule a call with a Partnership Development Manager for more details.
Are the certifications jobseekers earn recognized by employers?
Yes. We work with reputable providers like Coursera and eCornell. These credentials are valuable additions to a resume and signal upskilling to employers.
How are other partners using the resources?
Every partner is unique so we don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach, and that’s the beauty of UpGlo Connect. Your program will look different from others, which is exactly how it should be. Check out our case studies for real examples.
Who is an ideal jobseeker?
An immigrant jobseeker should ideally meet the following criteria:
- Has work authorization or is waiting for work authorization
- Has prior industry experience
- Has some technical or professional training
- Possesses intermediate English and digital literacy
