A new special report highlights Afghan newcomers’ $1.71 billion potential annual earnings and $227 million potential annual tax dollars in an effort to spur legislative or administrative action and ensure stability for over 36,000 Afghans in the U.S.

Upwardly Global is sharing this report in collaboration with the Evacuate Our Allies coalition of over 150 organizations, many of whom contributed to the content, and dozens of other partners. The report documents Afghan newcomers’ immense contributions to the U.S. economy and society, and urges swift action to protect the status of Afghan newcomers in the U.S.

The report outlines four key groups who have immense continued potential to contribute: Afghan professionals filling labor market gaps, Afghan women leaders and human rights defenders, Afghans who are reinvigorating communities, and Afghan students.
