It’s 2025 and we are facing a headwind of anti-immigrant sentiment that is virulent, unfounded, and rising all over the world. AI is the new dot-com, bringing possibility and also uncertainty. The political climate is tough, borders are closing, and climate change is on the rise and creating displacement. At the same time, aging demographics and skills gaps have opened up new migration pathways around the world, digital nomads are on the move, and global professionals are finding new opportunities at home and from home.
Upwardly Global’s vision is more relevant than ever for more places and people beyond the U.S. The U.S. continues to need an aspirational and pragmatic partner in ensuring that our values as an immigrant nation are real and alive. Upwardly Global needs to be in more places and spaces, partnering with institutions of all kinds to take down policies that exclude, cement in new practices that include, and ensure that the windfall of talent that comes to the United States is respected and met with opportunity
.
The world at large could use a partner like Upwardly Global. For nations hoping to attract global talent, the Upwardly Global vision and experience can inspire, inform, and help to innovate policies and practices that lead to belonging in the workforce and beyond. If we approach global work with curiosity and creativity, the United States could learn new approaches for inclusive workforces from other countries. Across the globe, we can work together on international systems that create more mobility for everyone.
