Networking is an important skill in the U.S. job market: 80% of people find jobs through professional connections. But many immigrants and refugees lack the relationships that form a strong network.

Upwardly Global teaches you networking skills and connects you to a network of volunteers. Volunteers come from key industries and represent some of the most important companies in America. By connecting with them, you get industry insights and connections.

Upwardly Global job seekers connect with volunteers in two ways:

  1. By meeting individual volunteers for ongoing mentoring or for one-time meetings focused on resume reviews, mock interviews, or informational interviews. You will practice professional English, develop interviewing skills, and learn U.S. workplace culture.
  2.  Through networking events, where Upwardly Global company partners gather a group of employee volunteers. These events are hosted online or in company offices in New York, the Washington D.C. area, Chicago, and San Francisco. They bring company volunteers together with job seekers to do mock interviews, professional profile review, and goal setting.
