Dr. Prasolova worked as an anesthesiologist in Moscow and moved to the US at 35 knowing she would have to start over. There were many licensing barriers, including two exams and a three year residency. The hardest part was getting matched with a hospital and she couldn’t pass for eight years. She tried to volunteer at hospitals that never replied, but got approved to take the licensing test to become a nurse.
