Upwardly Global’s new report, “Missing in Action: Immigrant Women’s Pay Disparities in the Workforce,” reveals a troubling gap: skilled immigrant women earn significantly less than both their male peers and U.S.-born women. Drawing on data from 2,800 immigrant women, the report compares starting salaries against education level to expose deep disparities.
The more educated immigrant women become, the more sharply the wage gap grows. Immigrant women with master’s degrees see the steepest pay inequities, highlighting how even as these women play a growing role in the U.S. workforce, they remain consistently left out of the conversation around wage equity.
