Professional Development for Job Coaches
Developed by practitioners for practitioners, Jobversity’s Practitioner Learning Pathway is a top-rated training model that supports workforce development professionals in understanding barriers common to the full professional integration of immigrants and refugees.
The Practitioner Learning Pathway includes three modules, totaling 60-90 minutes of training content. Modules are web-based and self-paced, making them easily accessible to participants. Topics include:
Module 1: Essentials of Career Coaching covers intercultural competency in service provision, how to support English Language Learner (ELL) clientele, and understanding survival Job vs. Professional Jobs. Understanding Immigrant and Refugee Job Seekers provides an overview of visa status, foreign education and credentials, and cultural differences.
Module 2: Addressing Common Challenges and Unfamiliar Processes of the U.S. Job Search includes resume writing, interview skills, tips for navigating the U.S. job search process, U.S. work culture, and employer bias.
Module 3: Licensing and Credentialing includes information on assessing foreign credentials, advising on licensing and reskilling/upskilling opportunities, alternate career pathways in select fields, and determining labor market fit.
Practitioners who complete all three training modules become “Ambassadors for Global Talent.” Learn more below.
