Adam Monier Edwards is the CEO of Surmountable, PBC, where he is developing America’s easiest way
for citizens to make a difference by simplifying how we can solve society’s most complex problems
together. He founded the startup after co-authoring Surmountable: How Citizens from Selma to Seoul
Changed the World and moderating a panel for C-SPAN 2 Book TV with civil rights era icon Bernard
LaFayette Jr. and Alice Paul Institute director emerita Lucienne Beard.
Before becoming a social entrepreneur, Adam led owned media strategies for Fortune 500 clients with
an emphasis on web content, user experience, and search engine optimization. He visited 14 markets,
spoke at numerous conferences including the 2019 IAB Forum keynote in Uruguay, and grew his team of two at Reprise Digital to ultimately win awards for both Best SEO Campaign and Best Large SEO Agency.
Adam started as a volunteer with Upwardly Global in 2007 and was soon nominated to the Leadership
Council in 2008 and then the Board in 2010. Since his term ended, he has remained active with the
organization as a pro bono partner, go-to-market consultant, and now communications advisor.
Adam believes strongly in the power of film to raise awareness about immigration and was an executive
producer of the feature-length documentary, Refugee (2018), in addition to several other short films. He lives in New York with his Emmy-nominated wife where they recently welcomed a baby daughter.
